I tend to do my ‘spring cleaning’ before spring actually arrives. It can be so nice to have a good clear out of things you no longer need. My closet is always the biggest project for me when it comes to de-cluttering. Today I thought I would share with you my tips for clearing out my closet.
Get rid of any clothes that are damaged. Unless you’re actually able to fix them, toss them. There is no sense in keeping ripped or stained clothing you can’t wear in your closet.
Get rid of any clothes that don’t fit. If they’re too big or too small, donate them. You aren’t wearing them, so someone in need might as well benefit from them.
Get rid of any clothes you no longer wear or don’t like. If it hasn’t been worn in the past year, chances are you won’t wear it this year either. This takes up room you could be using for clothes you’ll actually wear.
Duplicate clothing. If you own ten little black dresses, it’s time to reconsider how many of them you actually need. If you have articles of clothing that look similar to others, try and decide which to keep since you likely don’t need them all.
