If you’re a regular reader of my blog, you know I love a nice at-home pamper night. They are so relaxing and one of my favourite ways to show myself some love! I’ve used so many different products over the years so for today’s post I thought I would share with you some of my current favourites that are definitely worth purchasing:
The Body Shop Spa of the World Himalayan Charcoal Body Clay*
Charcoal powder is an ancient Asian beauty secret proven to draw out impurities from the skin. I’ve been going to the gym and for walks outside a lot lately and body acne is something I’ve had to start dealing with again. This body clay helps clear up my skin and feels so luxurious on. I’ve never used a product like this before, but it is such a nice way to pamper yourself. It’s not overly messy either, which I appreciate! It smells lovely and really helps to relax my body and mind.
Graydon Skincare Before Bed Spray*
I love misting this over my pillows before bed. The lavender and sweet orange scent really helps relax me and I fall asleep a lot faster. I also find I have a deeper sleep and wake up feeling well rested, which is amazing! I only got into pillow mists about 2 months ago but I’m hooked now – they have totally changed the way I sleep!
Masque Bar by Look Beauty Sleeping Facial Mask with Lavender*
This mask gets left on overnight, as the name would suggest. The lavender scent is perfect for bedtime and it’s not too thick. It’s designed for dry skin, so I was a bit leery trying it since my skin has been more combination-oily lately, but it gives my skin such a nice glow in the morning! This mask is perfect for those times when you want to treat yourself but are a bit short on time.
Life Brand Purifying Mud Mask*
I really like Life Brand masks because they’re an inexpensive way to pamper yourself. You can purchase one mask for $1.99 or 3 for $5 at Shoppers Drug Mart, which is such a great deal! This one in particular is formulated with volcanic ash and blue-green algae to purify and tone the skin. Sometimes charcoal masks can be a bit drying, but I didn’t find that to be the case with this one. Instead, my skin felt nourished yet detoxified. This mask worked well at reducing excess oil, minimizing the appearance of my pores, and eliminated some texture issues I was having around my nose. The packet contains the perfect amount of product and you leave the mask on for 10-15 minutes before rinsing off.
Origins Clear Improvements Charcoal Exfoliating Cleansing Powder*
This cleanser is a powder, which is a new concept to me. You mix a bit of the powder with water and it becomes a foam cleanser, which I really liked. It is formulated with ultra-absorbent bamboo charcoal to help clear out your pores of dirt and toxins. I find this cleanser always gives me a really deep clean since it also exfoliates your skin. I’m left with soft and clean feeling skin every time!
Bleu Lavande Sea Salt Scrub*
I love using this scrub when I shower before bed. The lavender scent is so relaxing and totally sets the mood for the rest of the evening. It really helps me unwind and start my night on a positive note. The scrub is effective at removing dead skin cells but isn’t too abrasive on the skin. The scrub also contains sunflower oil to moisturize the skin and I love how soft my skin feels after using it!
Life Brand Exfoliating Foot Mask*
I love doing exfoliating foot masks every now and then, but especially this time of year! This particular one is the most inexpensive one I’ve tried at $4.99 and the quickest to do too (it gets left on 20 minutes as opposed to 1.5-2 hours). Inside are two socks that you put on. There are also packets of liquid that you pour into each sock. You then let your feet soak for 15-20 minutes before discarding the socks. Within 3-7 days peeling will occur for the next few days. While kind of gross, my feet always feel so soft and refreshed after using these foot masks!
