Since first discovering the magic of a setting powder, I have been obsessed. They really do wonders at keeping my makeup looking its best all day long. Over the years I have experimented with a few, deciding that the Laura Mercier Invisible Loose Setting Powder was my all-time favourite.
The Laura Mercier option is pricey, though. When I was coming close to the end of powder recently I wanted to find a more affordable option that would do the trick. I don’t mind spending money on quality makeup but after hearing countless rave reviews of the RCMA No-Color Powder from some of my favourite YouTubers, I wanted to give it a try.
The RCMA option is less than a third of the price of my favourite high end setting powder and comes with a lot more product so I figured I didn’t have much to loose by giving it a try!
The powder is lightweight and finely milled. It is ideal for all skin tones and blurs the look of pores. The powder is a cult-classic and for good reason – it does an exceptional job of setting my base makeup!
This powder was designed to be used on set by Hollywood makeup artists and doesn’t give a cakey finish.
My only gripe with this powder is the packaging. A lot of powder comes out at once and it can be hard to not get it everywhere. I actually had an old Cover FX setting powder container that was empty and I ended up putting the powder in there to make it easier to use.
While it is on the affordable end of the spectrum, this powder gives high end results in my opinion. I love it just as much as the Laura Mercier one but at a fraction of the cost, I will definitely be repurchasing this one more!
