I am a sucker for neutral eye shadows. I love experimenting with different looks, but neutrals are what I get the most use out of. In my high school days I kept things a bit simpler than I do now and just wore beige eye shadow all over my lids with a bit of eyeliner and mascara. Over the years I’ve incorporated other shades into the mix, but beige is still my go-to for those days when I can’t decide how to do my makeup.
I’ve definitely used more than my fair share of beige shadows over the years, so today I thought I would round up my top 4 favourites.
First is NARS ‘Abyssinia’. This is hands down my favourite beige shadow. The formula is so creamy and easy to blend. This pearly-beige brightens up any eye look and is my most used neutral shadow. The packaging, like all NARS products, is so lovely. It even comes with a little mirror inside.
Next up is the Stila Smudge Crayon in the shade ‘Kitten’. As I’ve mentioned before, I’m really loving eye shadow sticks lately so I’ve been getting a lot of use out of this one here. Unfortunately the crayons have since been discontinued, but you can still buy this shade in powder form. It’s more of a pinky-beige and has some shimmer running through it, making it such a pretty shade on the lid.
The Urban Decay Naked Basics palette is full of gorgeous neutrals, but the shade ‘Venus’ is by far my favourite. It’s such a gorgeous matte shade that blends so nicely. It too is a pinky-beige but has no shimmer running through it making it very different than the Stila option.
Last but not least is the Bourjois Colorband in ‘Beige Minimaliste’. These eye shadow sticks are so creamy and apply really nicely. They’re quite pigmented and waterproof as well. This is my go-to beige for busy days as it just easily swipes on.
