With 2016 coming to an end I thought now would be a great time to reflect on the beauty products I have loved most throughout the past year. I have tried so many amazing new products this year and rediscovered old favourites, so coming up with the list was pretty hard! I’ve decided to narrow everything down into 4 categories (high end makeup, drugstore makeup, skincare, and hair care) and list off my top 10 for each!
High End Makeup
Estée Lauder Double Wear Foundation
This foundation is my number one go-to and has been for quite a while now. I love the coverage it gives and it looks flawless all day long without being touched up. Full review HERE.
Urban Decay Naked Weightless Complete Coverage Concealer
This concealer has been talked about so much on my blog that it only felt right to include it in this post. This really is the best concealer I have used! It hides spots and dark circles with ease and lasts all day. Full review HERE.
Tarteist Quick Dry Matte Lip Paint
I love liquid lipsticks but they can be quite drying. I tried this formula out this year and was so impressed! The shades are so pigmented and don’t feel heavy or drying on the lips. Also, the shade range is seriously pretty! Full review HERE.
Tarte Tarteist Pro Glow Contour Palette
This was added into my collection towards the end of the year, but I have used it nearly everyday since. The shades are all so pretty and the formulas are so blendable. Full review HERE.
Laura Mercier Invisible Loose Setting Powder
I’ve tried a lot of setting powders over the years and this is by far my favourite! I love how well it works to set my makeup and keep it looking its best all day long. Full review HERE.
Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara
I finally caved and bought this mascara back in the spring and have been obsessed with it ever since. No mascara has ever given my lashes so much volume and while I’ve loved lots of other mascaras this year, this one is definitely my all-time favourite! Full review HERE.
Urban Decay Naked Ultimate Basics Palette
This palette was one of my favourite launches this year! The Naked palettes are amazing and this one was just as great as I had expected it to be. It’s the ultimate everyday palette and I have been wearing it a lot since picking it up. Full review HERE.
Kat Von D Tattoo Liner
This is without a doubt my all-time favourite liquid liner! I’ve mentioned it a lot this year, but I really do love it! It is so pigmented and long lasting.
L’Oreal Infallible Pro Glow Foundation
I don’t usually have the best luck with drugstore foundations, however this one is an absolute gem! The shade range is great and it gives amazing coverage. Full review HERE.
L’Oreal La Palette Nude
This palette is on the more expensive side when it comes to drugstore makeup but is definitely worth it. The shade range is absolutely beautiful and the formula is super nice. Full review HERE.
Maybelline Color Sensational Bolds
The formula of the Color Sensational lipsticks is one of my favourites from the drugstore! They’re so creamy yet long lasting. The bold range has so many great shades to choose from too. Full review HERE.
Rimmel London Fix & Perfect Makeup Primer
This primer offers 8 hours of hydration, which is amazing for those who have dry skin like me. It sits under makeup well and helps my foundation last all day. Full review HERE.
Maybelline Lash Sensational Luscious Mascara
I was a huge fan of the original Maybelline Lash Sensational mascara so I was excited to give this one a try. I like it just as well! I love the really wet formula and it makes my lashes look so voluminous. Full review HERE.
L’Oreal Infallible Eye Shadow
These shadows are so great! The colour payoff is incredible and the shade range is really great.
L’Oreal Voluminous Liner Noir Liquid Eyeliner
Drugstore liners are usually a miss for me, but that’s not the case with this one! It is so easy to apply and very pigmented. This liner is without a doubt my favourite drugstore option! Full review HERE.
NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream
I love liquid lipsticks and these are my favourite option from the drugstore. The formula is so comfortable to wear and there are so many pretty shades to choose from. Full review HERE.
Delia Organics Berry Buffing Masque
This is another mask I have been obsessed with this year. It smells amazing and makes my skin look so radiant! Full review HERE.
Kate Somerville Eradikate
This solution works so well to diminish pimples. I thought it sounded too good to be true which is why I put off buying it but after seeing how well it works, it’s safe to say this will be a staple in my skincare routine. Full review HERE.
Dr. Dennis Gross Alpha Beta Extra Strength Daily Peels
Nothing has ever made my skin as clear as these peels. They’re gentle while still effective. Whenever I have a breakout I reach for these and my skin is much better in just a couple of days! Full review HERE.
Clarisonic Mia 3
I’ve been a Clarisonic fan for years but wanted to include it in my 2016 favourites as it has been a staple in my skincare routine. The Clarisonic works so well to keep my skin clean. Full review HERE.
Garnier SkinActive Waterproof Micellar Water
I was super impressed when I gave this micellar water a try! Nothing had ever come close to Bioderma to me, until this one came out. It works so well and I’ve used a couple big bottles of this up this year! Full review HERE.
Biotherm Aquasource Cocoon
This moisturizer offers 48 hours of hydration, which is amazing! It feels so nourishing on the skin and has a light grapefruit scent. It works wonders on my dry skin and has become a fast favourite of mine. Full review HERE.
AmorePacific Future Response Age Defense Serum
This serum is really great if your skin hasn’t started showing too many signs of aging but you want to delay the signs. It feels so nice on the skin, too! Full review HERE.
Vichy Mineralizing Thermal Water
This thermal water feels so incredible on the skin and as very affordable compared to others on the market. It came in really handy this summer when I got a bad sunburn and constantly serves as a great midday pick-me-up. Full review HERE.
Garnier Whole Blends Shampoo & Conditioner
I’ve tried a couple different ones in this range and loved them both equally. They always smell amazing and leave my hair feeling soft and nourished. I typically don’t love drugstore shampoo but this is definitely an exception! They are absolutely incredible!
Drybar Money Maker Flexible Hold Hairspray
This hairspray has since been repackaged but the formula remains the same. I love using this because it helps keep my hairstyles in place without making my hair feel hard or crunchy. Full review HERE.
Kérastase Chronologiste Fragrant Oil
This lightweight oil helps tremendously with flyaways and keeps my hair looking shiny without weighing it down or making it greasy. It has a light scent to it too, which I really like. Full review HERE.
L’Oreal Kids Tangle Tamer
Nothing detangles my hair better than this. So weird since it’s targeted at children’s hair and I have quite thick hair, but it really does the trick. It’s also super affordable too!
L’Oreal Mythic Oil
I loved this a lot in the summer, though it’s fun all year round. This hair oil is infused with glitter to add subtle sparkle to your strands. It helps tame flyaways for a sleek and polished look. Full review HERE.
