When it comes to skincare you don’t have to spend a lot to have great skin. While I have no problem splurging on skincare products, I know a lot of people prefer to save where they can. Drugstore skincare is slowly getting better and there are actually quite a few really great products on the market to choose from.
I’ve recently been trying some Burt’s Bees skincare and overall was quite impressed! The formulas are really gentle on the skin and for the most part are quite effective.
Here is what I have been testing:
Facial Cleansing Towelettes*
These wipes are formulated with white tea, cucumber extract, and aloe so they smell lovely and are very gentle on the skin. That being said, I found these to be a bit on the dry side and they didn’t remove long wear makeup particularly well. If you’re someone who doesn’t wear a lot of makeup I would recommend these still as they do a good job of removing base makeup and are not at all irritating on the skin.
Complete Nourishment Facial Oil*
This oil comes in a luxurious glass bottle with a dropper. The formula is rosehip seed oil so it is very nourishing and hydrating on the skin. I love how luxurious this oil feels on the skin and it didn’t break me out. This was definitely one of my favourites of all the products.
Gentle Foaming Cleanser with Royal Jelly*
This cleanser is best suited for normal to combination skin which is what I have at the moment. The formula contains royal jelly to boost radiance and gives the skin a healthy glow, which I am all about. It has a light scent and it makes my skin feel really clean.
Brightening Even Skin Tone Moisturizing Cream*
This moisturizer works to brighten the skin, even skin tone, and reduce the appearance of fine lines. The pump bottle is nice as it keeps the ingredients fresh. The moisturizer smells amazing and I really like the texture.
Renewal Firming Day Lotion*
This moisturizer comes in a luxurious glass bottle with a pump, which I thought was really nice for a drugstore moisturizer. The formula is designed to improve elasticity, firm the skin, and reduce the appearance of fine lines. The texture is very light and almost watery which is nice for summer. It makes the skin feel smooth and hydrated, which is great. I didn’t care for the scent of this one though.
Brightening Eye Treatment*
This eye treatment comes in a tube, which I love. It keeps the formula lasting longer and it’s easy to use. This eye cream works to brighten the under eye area and reduce the appearance of fine lines. It’s really lightweight too, which I like as rich eye creams are usually too much for my skin.
So there you have it. Definitely some hits and some misses, but for the most part I was really impressed with the skincare bits I’ve tried. If you’re looking for some budget friendly skincare, I would definitely check out Burt’s Bees.
