With school back in session, you’re likely not going to get a full night’s sleep every night. While I personally am not going back to school, I too have the odd late night. I find that my eyes are a dead giveaway if I’m feeling more tired than usual. I find bigger, brighter eyes will make you look wide awake, even if you aren’t.
Luckily, I have found some tricks over the years to at least help me look well rested when I’m not and thought I would share them with you.
Apply a nice natural blush with these steps and no one will know you stayed up all night binge-watching Netflix.
Wear a light coloured liner on your inner rim. I just picked up Tarte’s Inner Rim Liner and really like it. It’s not a standard pencil, so it glides on nicely. This feature was the main selling point for me as the inner rims of my eyes are quite sensitive.
Highlight your inner corner and waterline. This will really help brighten up the look of your eyes. I typically just use a cream coloured eyeshadow to do this.
Don’t skip under eye concealer. Apply your concealer in a triangle shape under your eyes and buff out with a brush for the best results.
Only line your lower lash line from your outer corner until where you’ve highlighted your waterline to avoid too harsh of a look.
Curl your lashes. I’m lucky that I don’t have to do this step, but curled lashes will make you look much more alert and awake.
Add some blush. Blush will keep your skin looking flushed and well rested, which overall will make your eyes look brighter.
Those are my go-to tricks for looking like I got my 8 hours in. What do you do to insure you always look well rested?
