While winter is known for being cold and flu season, but I think the transition from winter to spring can be just as bad if not worse. With the changing temperatures it can be easier in my experience to get sick which is a bummer since the last thing I want to do is be sick as the weather starts to get nice.
Curing illnesses with essential oils is a relatively new concept to me that I’ve only started experimenting with in the past 6 months to a year. I think it’s a really neat idea though and I love that it is possible to cure symptoms with something natural as opposed to medications.
Thursday Plantation has a Cold & Flu Emergency Kit* which actually has everything you need to cure cold and flu symptoms using only essential oils!
Essential oils literally have hundreds of uses so the possibilities are endless and not just restricted to sicknesses. Whether you massage them into the skin, use them in a diffuser, or something else entirely, they offer such great benefits.
The kit comes with three popular essential oils: eucalyptus, lavender, and tea tree which is a really nice place to start experimenting.
The eucalyptus oil helps clear up any respiratory issues such as asthma, coughing, and bronchitis. It can also help kill germs, boost your immune system’s health, and cure a stuffy nose.
The lavender oil is my personal favourite. I’ve used it in my bath for ages to help me de-stress and make my skin softer. The lavender can also help with nausea, chapped lips that can often accompany a cold, as well as helping with stress and anxiety. I find it also helps me sleep better too.
Lastly, the tea tree oil can help with sinus infections and sore throats. You can also add a few drops to your bath to help with any aches and pains.
While these oils have countless other benefits, they work especially well when it comes to fighting off cold and flu symptoms.
Have you tried treating your cold or flu symptoms with essential oils before?
