For today’s video I thought it would be fun to show you how I store all of my beauty products. I have a lot of product so I’m always looking for new ways to keep everything organized. If you have any tips leave them in a comment down below!
I’ve wanted a Himalayan salt lamp for quite a while now. They are really popular and after seeing them pop up on my Instagram feed a fair bit, I did a bit of research on them. Not only are they really pretty but they offer some really cool health benefits too. One immediately went on my wish list so I was so thrilled to receive one from my sister this past Christmas.
Himalayan salt lamps are hand chiseled solid blocks of ancient crystal salts with a hollowed out center for a light bulb.
The salt lamps are largely known for neutralizing Electromagnet Radiation, which we are surrounded by thanks to all of our electronics. Constant exposure to Electromagnetic Radiation can lead to increased stress levels, chronic fatigue, and it can decrease the body’s immune system. Himalayan salt lamps neutralize this so we aren’t as effected by the damage Electromagnetic Radiation can do.
Himalayan salt lamps have a lot of other benefits too such as:
- remove dust, pollen, smoke, and other contaminants from the air
- alleviate allergy symptoms (I’m really excited about this come springtime)
- increase energy levels
- improve mood and concentration
- improve quality of sleep
- treat seasonal affective disorder
I have mine sitting on my desk beside my computer as that’s where I spent a majority of my time when I’m at home. I love the look of it and while I haven’t had it that long I have definitely noticed an improvement in the quality of the air in my bedroom (it feels a lot fresher) as well as in the quality of my sleep.
Do you have a Himalayan salt lamp?
Today I thought I would share with you some of my little ways to decorate your bedroom for the holidays! Whether you live in a dorm room or just want to make your bedroom look festive, these are simple ways to do so without breaking the bank.
I love having lots of pillows on my bed. I think they really make my room look cozy and they are a great way to decorate. I was able to find inexpensive cushion covers at my local fabric store and just put them on pillows I already had. There are so many options on the market right now to fit any style. I opted to keep my blush coloured pillows and added a cream faux fur pillow, one covered in sequins, as well as the plaid pillow with the deer silhouette (my personal favourite). I love the mixture of textures and think that even though they’re different, they all coordinate nicely together. Aside from the deer one, I’ll be able to use them all year round too if I want!
I love string lights all year long but they’re especially nice around Christmas time. I got these copper ones at Chapter’s and they fit perfectly along my headboard. They were inexpensive but are a really cozy touch, especially when I’m watching Netflix in the evenings.
Table Top Tree(s)
I actually found these pretty rose gold table top trees at my grocery store! I think they’re so pretty and they match the string lights perfectly. I’ve decided to place them on my dresser so I can admire them as I watch TV. They’re really feminine but still festive, which fits my decor perfectly.
I love candles year round, so it’s no surprise I love using them to decorate with. This particular one from Chapters in the scent ‘Snowflakes & Morning Frost’ smells amazing and matches my grey colour scheme perfectly! While I’ll have this out all winter, it looks nice for Christmastime too.
Light Up ‘L’
I picked this light up at Michael’s as well. It was inexpensive and battery operated so you can put it anywhere. It has a handle on it so I love keeping it either on my door handle or lit up by my TV.
I snagged this wreath at my local Michael’s for $6! I also found the glittery pine cones there for just a few more dollars. I just glued the pine cones to the wreath and used a door hanger I found from the dollar store to hang it on my door. I love the look of it and it was way cheaper than any of the pre-made wreaths I saw anywhere.
Snowflake Window Stickers
I picked these pretty snowflake stickers up at the dollar store! They’re so cute and were such an inexpensive way to decorate. Window stickers aren’t typically my favourite but I think these ones look really nice, especially at night! It was hard to get a good picture of them, but I promise they’re super cute!
Will you be decorating your dorm room or bedroom this Christmas?
I love when bloggers share what’s on their desk. They always look so organized and often give me inspiration for my own desk, so today I thought I would share with you what I keep on mine.
A desk lamp. This comes in handy for late nights spent at my desk.
My computer. I recently upgraded to an iMac which is mainly what I use to blog with. I generally like to work on my blog at a desk as I find I am the most focused when I do.
Speakers. I’m a huge fan of listening to music while I work.
Stationary supplies. Pens, my agenda, sticky notes, and notebooks can often be found on my desk for writing down blog inspiration.
Makeup bits. I mostly blog about makeup so I often have little makeup bits on my desk. Whether I’m blogging about it in the upcoming week or I want to make sure to test it out, it can be found on my desk.
What do you keep on your desk?
