As someone who had braces for multiple years, I always want to make sure my teeth are looking their absolute best. I’m a lover of coffee and red wine, two things that are notorious for staining your teeth. While I’m good about brushing my teeth, they are sometimes not as white as I would like them to be.
While I don’t drink red wine even every week, I can’t function without my daily coffee or two so at-home teeth whitening products always intrigue me. I’ve tried one or two in the past and saw results but I always like trying new ones out.
I’ve recently been testing the Keeko Botanical Teeth Whitening Pen* to safely whiten my teeth without damaging my enamel. The product is formulated with bicarbonate soda and cranberry to naturally white teeth and the formula also contains chamomile and aloe vera to help soothe sensitive teeth and gums.
You brush your teeth as normal and then dry them off with a tissue. You then smile and coat each tooth with the gel. The pen makes application a breeze, which is nice. You then keep smiling for about 60 seconds until the gel dries. Once it has dried you can’t eat or drink for an hour, which is to be expected.
Two notes about this: 1. 60 seconds is a long time to smile with your mouth wide open and 2. a little goes a long way. The first time I applied this I obviously used too much and after even 2 minutes it was still wet and I ended up wiping the excess off. After that I didn’t have any problems though, so it was just a bit of a learning curve at the start.
The formula is designed to make your teeth 5+ shades whiter in 7 days and give you visible results in just 30 minutes of application, which I would say is true. My teeth were noticeably whiter, which I was pleased with.
Keeko offers a range of whitening products so there is something for everyone. I was impressed with how easy to use the pen was and it offered quick results which is always ideal! One thing I found was that my results started wearing off after a few days of not using it which is something to bear in mind.
Have you tried any of the Keeko whitening products?
