You guys know I’m all about skincare and I love trying new brands. I’ve recently been testing out some things from MyChelle Dermaceuticals, a new-to-me brand, and thought I would share with you my experience!
The packaging is rather plain and didn’t really blow me away, but most of the products inside were great which is the important thing. It’s also super affordable which is a bonus! Here’s what I’ve been trying:
Daily Defense SPF 17 Broad Spectrum Cream*
This was probably my favourite of all the products I tried. The texture of this cream is really refreshing and sits well under my makeup. It protects the skin from UVA/UVB rays and from free radical damage. It is lightweight and quite hydrating too.
Sun Shield Unscented SPF 28 Broad Spectrum Lotion*
This was another hit for me too. This formula protects the skin from UVA/UVB rays and is mineral based. It absorbs into the skin quickly and gives a matte finish. Again, this one sits really well under makeup.
Sun Shield Clear Stick SPF 30*
I love the idea of this product and really wanted to love it, but sadly it was my least favourite of all the products. I didn’t like the smell of this one and I found it left my face looking greasy by lunch time, which is rare for me. It went under my makeup fine but for whatever reason my skin was especially oily by lunch time. It does offer UVA/UVB protection though and doesn’t feel heavy on the skin which is good.
Replenishing Solar Defense SPF 30 Broad Spectrum Lotion*
This formula is mineral based and offers UVA/UVB protection. This option is water resistant and significantly thicker in texture than the others. I tend to prefer this one on a no-makeup day as it is thicker. It does go under makeup fine, but since I opt for lighter bases in the summer I prefer the texture of the first 2 SPFs.
Refining Sugar Cleanser*
This cleanser works to gently exfoliate the skin and improve its texture. The formula contains peptides which prevent premature aging, which is important to me as I enter my mid-twenties. The cleanser is gentle enough for daily use and doesn’t feel abrasive on my sometimes-sensitive skin. My skin looks brighter and feels really clean when I use this.
Remarkable Retinal Serum*
This serum contains the most potent non-prescription dose of Vitamin A which promotes healthy skin renewal. It’s a great, affordable option for anti-aging skincare as it rejuvenates skin as well as helps reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. The serum also helps smooth out any texture issues, which has been especially helpful for me the past few weeks. I love too that the serum comes in a pump bottle so it will stay fresh longer.
Perfect C PRO Serum*
This serum also comes in a great little pump bottle, which I love. This one is designed to improve texture and illuminate the skin. It also reduces the appearance of visible signs of aging. While my skin hasn’t really started to show early signs of aging, I figure there’s nothing wrong with a bit of preventative maintenance while giving my skin a healthy glow.
And there you have it! Definitely a couple products that didn’t become new favourites but the good definitely outweighed the bad when it came to testing out these goodies. I would definitely recommend checking out MyChelle and I am interested in trying more from the brand in the future.
Have you tried anything from MyChelle? What should I try next?
